Rate limits

Per-workspace quotas and headers

Every OpenPost workspace has a rate budget that resets continuously (token-bucket algorithm). You’ll almost never hit it from a normal app — the limits are generous and headers tell you when you’re close.

Default limits

All plans

300 req/min per workspace

Trial

Same 300 req/min limit applies during the 7-day free trial

Limits are per-workspace, not per-key. A workspace with several API keys shares one budget. Multiple keys help with access control, not throughput.

When you’re throttled

Exceeding your workspace limit returns 429 Too Many Requests. Wait and retry with exponential backoff.

http
HTTP/1.1 429 Too Many Requests

Recommended client behavior

  1. On 429, back off with exponential delay + jitter — e.g. 1s, 2s, 4s with ±25% random jitter.
  2. Space out bulk operations rather than firing them all at once. Most scheduling workflows can comfortably sit within the 300 req/min budget.
  3. Prefer scheduling ahead (up to 180 days) over rapid-fire publish-now calls.

Need more capacity?

If you’re hitting 429s on a legitimate workload, email contact@infina.sowith your request pattern and we’ll review.
