Terms of Service

Effective date: April 11, 2026

These terms govern your use of OpenPost, a social media scheduling and distribution platform operated by OpenPost (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use OpenPost.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use OpenPost. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. If you are using OpenPost on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at security@openpost.so. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account that we were not notified about.

One person or entity may maintain multiple workspaces under a single account. Account sharing (multiple people using one set of credentials) is not permitted — use the team members feature instead.

3. What OpenPost Provides

OpenPost lets you create, schedule, and publish content across multiple social media platforms from one place. The service includes a content editor, scheduling calendar, analytics dashboard, media library, team collaboration tools, and a public API.

We connect to third-party platforms (X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, and Bluesky) through their official APIs using OAuth or equivalent authentication. These platforms have their own terms and policies that you must independently comply with.

We do not guarantee that any specific social media platform will remain available or compatible with OpenPost. Platforms may change their APIs, policies, or rate limits at any time, which can affect OpenPost functionality.

4. Your Content

You own the content you create and publish through OpenPost. We do not claim ownership over your posts, images, videos, or other media. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service (for example, storing a scheduled post until its publish time, then sending it to the selected platforms).

You are solely responsible for the content you publish. This means you must have the rights to any content you upload, and your content must not violate any applicable law, third-party rights, or platform community guidelines. We do not pre-screen or approve content before it is posted.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use OpenPost to:

  • Send spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or misleading content.
  • Violate the terms of service of any connected social media platform.
  • Distribute malware, phishing links, or other harmful material.
  • Impersonate another person or organization.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, our infrastructure, or any connected platform.
  • Use the service for any illegal purpose.
  • Circumvent rate limits, automate account creation, or abuse the API in ways that degrade the service for others.

Full details are in our Acceptable Use Policy.

6. Plans, Billing, and Trials

OpenPost offers paid plans billed monthly or annually. All plans include a 7-day free trial. Your payment method is required at signup but will not be charged until the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial, you will not be charged.

After the trial, your subscription renews automatically at the start of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.

We offer full refunds within 7 days of a charge. After that, partial refunds are at our discretion. Contact billing@openpost.so for billing questions.

We may change pricing with 30 days’ notice. Existing subscriptions continue at the current price until the end of their billing cycle.

7. API Access

OpenPost provides a public REST API for programmatic access. API usage is subject to rate limits that depend on your plan. Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary throttling. Persistent or intentional abuse may result in suspension of API access.

API keys and OAuth tokens are confidential. You are responsible for keeping them secure and must not share them publicly. If a key is compromised, revoke it immediately from your dashboard.

We may modify the API with reasonable notice. We will make efforts to maintain backward compatibility but cannot guarantee it indefinitely.

8. Intellectual Property

OpenPost’s software, design, branding, documentation, and other materials are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Your subscription gives you a license to use the service — it does not transfer ownership of any part of OpenPost to you.

You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from OpenPost’s proprietary software or materials.

9. Disclaimers

OpenPost is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make reasonable efforts to keep the service reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Specifically:

  • We do not guarantee that posts will be delivered to every platform at the exact scheduled time. Platform APIs, rate limits, and outages can cause delays.
  • Analytics data comes from third-party platforms and may be delayed, approximate, or incomplete.
  • We are not responsible for changes that social media platforms make to their APIs or policies.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenPost’s total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless OpenPost and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms or any third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data is removed according to our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid fees for unused service.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice within the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of OpenPost after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Severability and Waiver

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
